The Challenge

The SLSO wanted to redesign their symphony’s website to reflect the excitement of the renovation project and speak to all community members about their incredible music experiences. They looked to us to help develop the best orchestra website that would improve their design, functionality and performance ahead of a large capital campaign.

Our Approach

SEO Strategy

With an audience that captures the hearts and minds of all ages, the SLSO wanted their symphony’s website to speak to all who may encounter them. From families and annual subscribers to first-time visitors and generations of donors, we took their search engine optimization strategy into careful consideration — selecting keywords that would match with different audiences.

From there, we revised their site architecture and navigation to best organize different areas of a user’s journey. For example, their mega menu contained parent pages, such as “Get Tickets” along with relevant sub pages including, “subscription packages” and “special offers,” to direct users to specific purchasing options. By the end of our efforts, the SLSO reduced website subpages by 47% — without sacrificing valuable content.

UX Copywriting

The SEO strategy and keyword planning was the framework that developed the robust content strategy for their symphony website. Our UX copywriting strategy consisted of writing, editing and migrating content to the new website platform. We effectively blended their welcoming tone with relevant keywords to tell the story of who they are, what experience they offer and clearly communicate its concerts during the Powell Hall renovation phase.

Web Design

The SLSO wanted a website design that would coincide with the renovation and expansion of Powell Hall. Not only did they want to streamline their users’ visual journey, but they also wanted to include dynamic elements that would help them stand out from the competition. By first focusing on the home page of their symphony website, we created the blueprint that would set the visual direction for the interior pages.

The design showcases the excitement of the symphony with pops of color, intriguing gradients and vibrant photography. It also includes custom iconography that ties into the curvature of their logo.

Website Development

Behind the scenes, our website development team managed the SLSO’s data management, API integrations and ticketing system. Their efforts produced a seamless transition, ensuring their symphony website was both mobile friendly and easy for all users to navigate. Our team was able to weave the custom design elements into their CMS to give the SLSO team the ability to quickly update content and create new pages in the future.
